A guide to formatting on the forums

WOAH!! I NEEVR KNEW THAT!!! :000000000000

so cool

Why not just use the markdown way?

Heading 1.

Or the <h1> tag in the center text.

ive never seen centered text before,

Is there a way to justify to the right?

what do you mena?

like this?

yes. that’s it.

<div align=right>

Is there a way to compress the spacing of each line ( so instead of 1.0 like .5)?

Not that I know of,

@Thuthu are you looking to do this on welcome messages or on forum posts?

If welcome message, then

<p style="line-height: 20px;">Line spacing</p>

Forums post. Just curious… not really important.

Yay! Edit -awww

Can any of you explain how to ex. have an emoji, with text, make the whole thing bold and centered. I feel like, when I’ve tried to get it centered… the emojis go away.

Ex. (hypothetically, of course) how do you make the following line centered?
:smiling_imp: What’s for dinner?:smiling_imp:

P.S. Thanks so much for all the cool tips.
Very impressed with what you all know about how to do this stuff and appreciative that you are sharing with the rest of us. :slight_smile:

Centering with Emojis:

You could also use the emoji keyboard rather then the forums one at the toolbar.

  1. Find an image link to the emoji. Search up the emoji name online then hold the image and copy the url link.

  2. Use the <div align=center> starting tag.

  3. Add this code to your centered text:

<img src="IMAGE URL EMOJI"  style="width:20px;height:20px;">
  1. And you’re done! Use </div> to end center text.

So @Thuthu, this would be your code:

<div align=center>
 <img src="https://goo.gl/images/UzzuND"  style="width:20px;height:20px;">
<b> What’s for dinner? </b>
 <img src="https://goo.gl/images/UzzuND"  style="width:20px;height:20px;">

which will show up like this:

What’s for dinner?

wait are da images working or is it just a box?

  • they are just a boxie
  • i see da image

What’s for dinner?

Ooof, kind of worked.

:wink: Ahoy there mate! :wink:

Ahoy there mate!

I did some in searching and found where the icon is located. I put it inside an HTML image tag and put the URL to the image inside.

What’s for dinner?

Not exactly the simplest thing to do if you use this method a lot, but it is relatively easy.

<div align="center">
<img height="20" src="https://forums.theblockheads.net/images/emoji/twitter/smiling_imp.png5">
What’s for dinner?
<img height="20" src="https://forums.theblockheads.net/images/emoji/twitter/smiling_imp.png">

especially if you cut and paste it. Thanks @KP7

To bold the line? Just add and in front and behind the text, right?
