once you upgrade the toolbench to max, make a gold pickaxe and mine away with it, you can get so much with just 1 gold pickaxe.

for ores no, it only get things in the dirt

Yes, I got a diamond from mining iron with a Gold spade in a expert mode server

you have to hit an ore block with a gold spade to get ores and gems. And the better the block, the better the random drops. That’s been my experience. So I use my gold spades mainly on titanium, plat and gold ore blocks.
